We’ve released a CoPilot Live v8 update for Android that includes support for version 2.2 of the Android operating system, also known as ‘Froyo’. The update is available immediately as a free download to your Android smartphone. We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting this update and we’d like to thank those of you who have been able to upgrade your phones to Froyo for your patience. It appears that many people have been able to download an unofficial version of the Froyo OS shortly after it was first announced in May, and it’s taken us several weeks to develop and road test our compatible version of CoPilot Live. Right now, Froyo is only officially available for Google’s Nexus One Smartphone.
Here’s how to install the update:
- Android Market Customers: If you bought your CoPilot Live on the Android Market, you can get our latest app update from the Android Market
- Boxed Product & Download Versions: If you purchased your CoPilot Live on the CoPilot webstore or through one of our authorised distributors, you’ll need to download and install the latest CoPilot Live app update by visiting www.copilotlive.com/androidinstall on your phone’s web browser.
Thank you for choosing CoPilot Live GPS navigation for your Android smartphone.
Happy travels this summer!
We’ve pushed a new Android update live this week. It’s a minor update that fixes an issue that some customers have reported where CoPilot Live was crashing on start up.
Please note that this update does not bring support for the latest version of Android 2.2 (aka Froyo). As with other Android developers, we were a bit surprised by how quickly Google released Froyo to customers, but we can tell you that our dev team are working hard on another update that will add full support. It will be released as soon as we can, although we can’t provide a specific day right now.
We appreciate your patience if you have already updated to Froyo – you can rest assured we are absolutely on the case!
